My First Workshop

It’s October and while I’m still writing the tenth chapter of my ongoing screenwriting workshop I am making my first workshop presentation later this month. I’m a member of the Canadian Authors Association, Toronto Branch and as part of our new season I’ve volunteered to present my workshop on screenwriting. There has been a lot of interest in topic in the last couple of years at the branch so we’ve decided to offer the workshop.

I’ll only have about an hour and a half for the presentation so I will focus on the 9 Story Pillars and then the rest of the 56 Story Cards followed by a screenplay format primer. My hope is that some of the participants will come to the presentation with ideas so they can take part and build their screenplays in the workshop.

So if your in the Toronto area, I would like to extend the invitation to all of my followers to come and take part in my first live workshop. I hope to get feedback from those who are there so I can improve the presentation for the next time.

  • When: Thursday, October 18 at 7:00–9:00 p.m.
  • Place: Northern District Library, 40 Orchard View Blvd., Toronto. (how to get there.)
  • Cost: CAA Members free; Non-members $10; Students (with student ID) $5.
