Have you ever wanted to write a screenplay but didn’t know where to start? Let Stephen C. Feek point you in the right direction. Stephen started writing screenplays when he was still in High School. He than spent the next 25 years writing and studying screenplays. He has put together an informative workshop that will help any writer develop the screenplay starting from the original idea to a full break down of each of the beats.

This workshop will start with developing the idea, the log line and the working title. Stephen will then discuss creating characters who will do inhabit your story world. Deciding on your location will be discussed to ensure that you are making the most of the setting selections. The second hour of the two-hour workshop will be devoted to plot development from the initial 3 story beats to breaking those three beats out to a total of 56 unique story beats that will tell your story. Finally we’ll discuss the details of writing your first screenplay in the correct format accepted by the Hollywood professionals.

There will be a fair amount of writing required for this workshop and everyone is asked to come with a notebook and a pen. Handouts will be provided with the learning points as well as a workbook. This workshop was originally scheduled on November 2012 which was unfortunately cancelled at the last moment due to illness.

  • Time: 7:00–9:00 p.m.
  • Place: Northern District Library, 40 Orchard View Blvd., Toronto. (how to get there.)
  • Cost: CAA Members free; Non-members $10; Students (with student ID) $5.

  1. This is a really cheap and great screenwriting workshop from a real pro. I wish I was around… IF there is an online course or workshop I’d be happy to enter!
